For Toree Michelle, photography evolved from spending time with friends to a career that has opened doors. She picked up photography in 2017 capturing some of the most important moments in people's lives from weddings, graduations, and more. It wasn't long ago when she decided to capture content through a new lens — product photography, specifically sneakers and apparel. In her short amount of time at Manor, Toree has not only grown as a product photographer but as a content creator as well. "I’ve learned a lot about photographing better angles and that has come up a lot in different aspects of my photography," she said. "I thought I paid attention to detail before but now it’s like about looking for little things that stand out." As a member of the Manor team, Toree has captured some of the most coveted sneakers in recent years and has built a lane for herself and other women of color who look to contribute in the space. "Out of all the photography niches I've tried, this is the one where I feel the most accepted," she said. "There’s a lot of people of color in the sneaker community." Though the acceptance has been great, she hopes to see more growth — especially for women of color. "The photography community is very male dominated, and the sneaker community is even more male dominated," she said. The self-trust for Toree and her photography has progressed tremendously to the point that her photography is making waves across the industry and especially for the Manor community. "The sneaker community is very big and it’s something that makes a lot of people happy," Toree said. "Release day are like weddings; it’s a day that people have been looking forward to their whole life and sneakerheads look forward to shoes dropping everyday." Akin to Toree's story, the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low OG WMNS "UNC to Chicago" is about the progression of Michel Jordan from a collegiate star to the sport's greatest of all time. Toree and her growth from wedding photographer to storyteller within the sneaker space embodies the Jordan Brand spirit of taking flight and exceeding expectations — even when there are none.
